Commercial Real Estate Underwriter

Description:
The underwriter in will be responsible for assessing debt and equity investment opportunities and preparing investment committee presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Review debt (senior and subordinate) and equity applications. Analyze due diligence information to make a general assessment of investment desirability.
  • Prepare credit memos; comprised of loan terms and conditions, a narrative explaining transaction background, outlining risk factors, conduct in-depth review of rent rolls, leases, balance sheets, income statements, tax returns and personal financial statements presented by applicants to assess their ability to generate income sufficient to repay proposed debt.
  • Analyze leases, appraisals, engineering & environmental assessment reports.
  • Conduct market and neighborhood analysis.
  • Perform complicated financial analysis and valuations in Excel and Argus.
  • Monitor and coordinate transactions from application to closing.
  • Contact loan applicants (clients) and their representatives (CPA, CFO, Mortgage broker) to obtain due diligence and clarify potential underwriting issues. Monitor and coordinate transactions from application to closing.

Applicants should have an academic background in finance, accounting or real estate with two years of related work experience. Strong math and communication skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel, Argus and or other relevant valuation software are essential.

This person must be well organized, energetic, capable of performing in a fast paced environment, and have the skills to excel under considerable time pressure.

Commercial Mortgage Originator

Description:
The Commercial Mortgage Originator will be responsible for soliciting new relationships with investors, developers, real estate brokers and financial intermediaries (accountants, financial planners, etc…) for the purpose of commercial mortgage origination.

The applicant should have an analytical or sales background with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of commercial or residential experience is not required, though preferred.

Please note: In order to be eligible for a Base, you must have a proven commercial loan closing track record and a verifiable, outstanding pipeline.

Originator will have access to a proprietary database with maturing loans and property owner information.
